Dear CAOS enthusiasts:
The 7th Annual Meeting of the International
Society for Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery will be held in Heidelberg,
Germany, from June 20 to 23, 2007.
It is a great honour that CAOS-International has decided to have their
2007 Annual Meeting hosted in Heidelberg, and it is a pleasure for me to invite
you to attend this gathering of the world's leading experts in the fields of
navigation and robotics in orthopaedics and traumatology.
The importance of computer guidance in orthopaedics has grown enormously during
the past years, the meetings of our Society have established themselves as
high-level scientific and social events bringing together clinicians, researchers,
and students from all around the world.
Our industrial partners are invited to present their products in the large
exhibition area of the Heidelberg Convention Center and during the workshops.
This will be an excellent opportunity for a creative dialogue with the participants.
The successful preceding meetings in Davos, Santa Fe, Marbella, Chicago, Helsinki,
and Montréal have set a high standard of quality of the scientific sessions,
workshops, and industry exhibits. The recent meetings usually attracted well
above 400 attendees and left the participants and accompanying persons with
unforgettable impressions due to their special scientific, social, and cultural
highlights. We are planning to continue this tradition trying to make the 2007
Annual Meeting once more the best one so far.
For the first time in its history, CAOS-International's Annual Meeting will provide
the arena for two established local events focusing on CAOS related topics:
the annual meeting of AGROP, the
Computer Assisted Surgery working group of the German Society for Traumatology (DGU)
as well as "Forum 3D",
a one-day symposium on intraoperative imaging. As another novelty we will offer
dedicated tutorials on selected CAOS topics led by world experts.
I am looking forward to welcoming you all in Heidelberg!
