The CAOS Community
Ever since the foundation of our society the annual meetings tried to offer an
experience worth remembering not only to those attending the scientifc part of the
conference, but also to their spouses and families. A number of social events are
therefore an integral part of the meeting and are open to every participant of
CAOS 2007 as well as to those who register as an accompanying person.
Wednesday Afternoon: Welcome Reception
Before the scientic program will start on Thursday morning, everyone is invited
to a first gathering at the industrial exhibition in the Heidelberg Convention
Center. Snacks and drinks will be served.
Friday Night: Conference Banquet
A cable car will take us up to the top of the hill, where the famous Heidelberg
castle is located. The conference banquet will take place in the knight’s hall
of this 500 year-old historic building. After a glass of champagne on the terrace,
which offers a gorgeous view over the Old Town of Heidelberg, we will descend
into the arches of the knight’s hall and you will find yourself in the location
where knight’s games took place in medieval times. Here we will have dinner,
celebrate the M. E. Müller Award laureate, and transfer the
Presidency of CAOS-International.
Saturday Noon: Scientific Awards Ceremony
After awarding the prizes for the best clinical and technical podium and poster
presentations, we will gather at the bar of the Convention Center for a typical
Southern German snack with pretzels and wheat beer.
Saturday Afternoon: Dragon Boat Race
We will meet in the Neckar Meadows along the banks of the Neckar river.
Several dragon boats will be waiting for us to start the dragon boat competition,
followed by a solid barbecue to celebrate the winning team during an informal
chill-out party. Those who prefer to stay on solid ground may compete in a
beach volleyball tournament.
